My name is Nathalie Jessica Bernard, I am 29 years old and a trained and freelance photographer from Germany. I was born and raised in beautiful Stuttgart, but I call many places home – especially where the wi-fi connects itself. I’ve always been a creative mind, even in school I didn’t want to know much about math or chemistry – I preferred art and sports over that. When I was a kid I was often told that I had a knack for cameras and technology. It didn’t took long until I found all my father’s cameras and it was always hard for me to let them go.
It all started with some simple self portraits and the cheapest programme I could find. Simple portraits quickly became small works of art. I think that was the point I knew that this is exactly what I wanted to do – create a work of art from a photograph. In 2015, after finishing my training in photography, I began to seriously pursue digital art and conceptual photoshoots. I switched my concentration from portrait photography to fine art. This is when photography went from being a hobby to a full-time passion of mine.
I’ve always been so drawn to human connection, interesting light, and creating art that makes you feel something.
Photography became my greatest love and it always drives me. Seeing what you can create and arousing people’s curiosity warms my heart. The most valuable thing I have besides my camera is my creativity and imagination. These three points make a beautiful picture. Perfection, emotions and a lot of fun make up my pictures. I love to tell surreal stories with my camera. Stories that make you look twice and wonder: is this even real? Photography is an art and I bring it to life. Creating images that look unreal but feel real – that’s my passion and what I live for.
Today, I still love doing self-portraits because this is what I feel the most. An idea of my own brought to life. Besides my photography, I stream regularly on Twitch, where I pursue my second passion – gaming.
